"The Hop on Reading books are full of funny stories and my son loves the recurring characters. At first I thought the books were just an opportunity to read more with my son, but then I read about the structured approach to the wording and rhythm in the stories. Very impressive and makes me want to get the entire series as my son is learning to read!"
"The Hop On Reading Series is doing exactly what it's designed to do. My students are decoding the words, learning the sight words and there is enough repetition they are remembering the words by the end of the book and on to the next. In the journal I love, love, love the letters on the hands! The sensory stimulation is helping develop the writing process."
“I cannot say how much this whole process helped our family; we are an international family who were struggling with relatively good international mainstream schooling for a very non mainstream child... after his sessions with Laura, his clinician who was just amazing, his confidence increased and he realized on a level that it was not him but rather a system that did not first for him. His point of reference for good teachers was Laura! He said to me once, about someone we met who was training to be a teacher, ‘will they be a proper teacher like Laura’ :-).
XXXX is not an easy child - creative, engaging, energetic, charismatic, but not easy! Laura had no problem understanding this about him and adapting constantly to be able to work with him which was an incredibly support not just for him but for me as well.”
"I knew I had to do something last year and my head was spinning at different programs. I feel truly blessed that I was guided to Lexercise and you were assigned to us."
"I love Cat, Bat and Frog! I want to read them over and over!"
"These books are awesome! My brother has dyslexia, my mother would have loved having this material for him. She struggled and struggled finding reading material. These are just what she needed!"
Hop On Reading for Dyslexia and All Struggling Readers
Hop on Reading Series 1 provides a structured foundation and systems approach to reading that is engaging, fun, and creative to stimulate and motivate the learner in a multi-sensory way. As an occupational therapist working with many different needs and skill levels I am always looking for tools that promote high interest, lots of interaction and hands on skill building and is also so much fun that the child learns through their own joy and engagement. With Mrs. Sargent's philosophy and Mrs Williams illustration they have developed a reading program that is both sound in principle and creative to read and enjoy. The first time through we read the entire book! Going back it was fun to really explore each lesson and enjoy the illustrations. Looking forward to continuing with the next series!
"I just wanted to say a huge heart felt THANK YOU.. for believing in the remedial reading program.
Michael likes when you read to him but he has struggled with decoding ... He is a visual child and likes to work with engines, cars and boats! A hands on type of little guy :)
I initially had XXXX tested with Lexercise to see if he was Dyslexic after discussing his reading/spelling with his teacher... She said he is a well behaved bright little boy but.. The reading. .We were perplexed...I found the Lexercise program and the clinicians to be very professional and helpful. After an extensive 90 minute online test, We were later told he is dyslexic and they suggested working with him for at least 6 months. He already was in the remedial program with Laura..I was prepared to enroll Michael in Lexercise as well to give him all the help I could....
.....Thank you for helping Mr. Very Good to hopefully be Mr. Very Good in Reading."

"I cannot thank you enough for everything - you have been the most incredibly valuable benchmark for XXXX in what a teacher should be - he refers to you a lot in this context and after having his confidence shattered in the last school you have ‘fixed’ a very important piece for him. Not to mention of course the leaps and bounds he has made since he started - he gets it now, I am not sure yet if he will need a further month or two - but to see how far he has come so far and his understanding is wonderful!"
XXXX is reading "Beyoners" by Brandon Mull.. 454 pages 😳..
A year ago he wouldn't have even attempted a 1st grade "chapter book"..
Thank you for your patient and encouraging help!! He has come SO far!!!
Melinda
(I'm so glad my son has a good sense of humor.. He giggled when I answered his question " Mom.. What is a hip-pop-o-tay-mus??"
He's reading away..)
"No thank you! I was so worried when I found out XXXX had Dyslexia.. So many questions about if he would be able to be successful in school, go to college if he wanted, get a job, take care of his family.. I didn't know about his future.. You have put my mind at ease. As well as his.. He is having great success and a different kid in his school life..and for that I am eternally grateful..!!!"
… Being a Dutch native, our daughter Jacey joined the local English school on Mustique two years ago…
When the Lexercise program was offered to some of the Mustique children with (possible) dyslexia or other reading difficulties, clinician Laura Sargent suggested to also let Jacey join this online program todevelop her ‘second language’ reading and writing but mainly to improve her English alphabet pronunciation, as this is very different to the Dutch we speak at home.
She has to ‘play’ a daily online game which only takes a few minutes and has a once-a-week class of one hour with teacher Laura in which she is coaching Jacey with her work…
What a difference this made over the past months; Jacey mastered her English language and is now amongst the best students of her grade.
This would have never been accomplished without the drive of teacher Laura; she is keen, passionate and exceptionally patient with her students… very constructive and uplifting towards her learners in an easy-going approach.
Jacey loves the support of Laura and is looking forward to meet her ‘face-to-face’ via the computer every week …
Thank you Laura; hopefully to a long term continuation of your classes.
